Hot fuels for fast cars
Men have been experimenting with weird fuel concoctions since man tamed fire. Even from the beginnings of fire it was obvious that the hotter fuel would give the best results. This more than translates the right fuel would mean top speeds for racing cars. After all the best burning fuel would give the faster camshafts to win the race. Eve with the technologically advanced fuels we still do not know what the upper limits of performance potential might be with the most potent fuels. The conventional automotive piston engine was designed to run on straight gasoline fuels. The major problems in this case was to get sufficient fuel octane ratings to prevent excessive detonation , or knock , to prevent excessive detonation, Detonation of course is a sudden , uncontrolled explosion of the last part of the gas-oil mixture. This uncontrolled explosion of gas in your engine, not only reduces power, but can easily cause engine damage, breaking piston rings and even the pistons themselves. Simply put if you have enough octane to prevent detonation there is not much else that can be done to get additional power out of gasoline. It is a different story when you are free to use fuels other than gasoline. These potent non gasoline fuels can boost the power in the engine in three general ways 1) They give you a much higher octane than you get with your conventional commercial gas that you buy at the pump 2) they can give you much more cooling effect when they evaporate in the manifold , which contracts the fuel-air charge so that your draws in a much greater of weight of mixture on each action stroke 3) by using fuels containing releasable oxygen you can get combustion without a corresponding amount of air prevent – which means that you can literally pour on the horsepower in your racing engine with as liquid fuel that can possibly be poured into your engine. The sky is the limit on the last trick. This is because it is much harder to get air in and out of a cylinder than it is liquid fuel, because of the large volume per pound of air/ anytime we can get some additional oxygen into the cylinder in high density liquid form, horsepower is bound to skyrocket. This in essence is the secret of Nitro fuels. Among the more popular “hot fuels “are Methanol, Benzoil, Acetone and Nitromethane. Each of these “hot fuels “have its advantages and disadvantages as well as its groups of proponents and detractors. Methanol is the chemical name for simple wood alcohol. Methanol has advantages that when used as a motor fuel it has an extremely high octane value. In addition methanol absorbs a great deal of heat when it evaporates in the manifold cooling down the front end of the engine – allowing for more concentrated fuel that is wonderful for horsepower. Methanol’s disadvantage as a fuel are that it contains a lot less heat value per pound than gasoline , so miles per a gallon are about cut in half. Benzoil or Benzene is a coal tar derivative, and weighs about 7.3 lbs. per gallon, whereas gasoline weighs about 6 lbs. Benzene’s chief advantage lies in its very high heat value, for good tank mileage, with reasonable octane ratings. Acetone is a solvent distilled from calcium acetate. Acetone has a very high octane rating (150 in a rich mixture). Acetone’s main use is as a blending agent for mixing gasoline and alcohol. The ability of alcohol in dissolved gas falls off as the purity of the alcohol decreases. In addition the two will separate over time, if left alone. So acetone is generally added in 5 to 10 % amounts to stabilize the alcohol / gasoline mixture. It works wonderfully well m and is not too expensive in these small amounts. Simply put blending blend gasoline and alcohol together is a good compromise between horsepower and tank mileage. Lastly Nitromethane or “nitroparaffin” compounds contain a substantial amount of oxygen that is released in combustion so they are technically explosives. In simpler terms this means that you can burn nitro without a corresponding amount of air present – hence power can be increased up to point, by merely richening the fuel/ air ratio. Holy cow! Even though Nitro is fairly expensive, engines have to be set up exactly to handle the heat, mileage is not that great, and Nitro as well has an unwarranted safety concern. The biggest concern with Nitro is that the engine has to be set up exactly exactly right. Otherwise the engine can actually blow up on the first full throttle. In addition if the engine is not set up exactly the extra heat and pressure on the engine can make it difficult to maintain engines over time. Engines running on 90 % or more Nitromethane have shown more than twice as much horsepower as similar settings on gasoline. When blended with methanol power increases of 30 and 40 % are common. In the end it’s all about the boys and their toys. Those with these odd fuel concoctions are usually the winners in the race.

Volts and electric scooters go hand in hand
A customer comes in and says “I’m looking for a 12 volt scooter”. The first question I ask is, “who is this scooter for?” If it is for anyone older than say, six, then I need to explain a few things so that they understand what they are asking for. What’s in a volt and what role do they play with your electric scooters? By definition, a volt is The International System unit of electric potential and electromotive force, equal to the difference of electric potential between two points on a conducting wire carrying a constant current of one ampere when the power dissipated between the points is one watt. Electric Scooters used to be based on a single 12 volt system, (One 12 volt battery). That was simple, and was consistent throughout the industry. Over the years, electric powered scooters have evolve into 24 volt, 36 volt and even 48 volt systems. Much more to choose from and much more variety have come about. The amount of total voltage does play an integral role in which scooter your should purchase. The amount of voltage, combined with the number of watts your motor is will determine how far, how fast and how much weight your scooter can carry without dieing out or burning up. The traditional 12 volt system. Now-a-days, the small kids electric scooters are single twelve volt systems. As you increase in wattage, that is how many watts of power that is generated by your electric scooter engine, the more juice that is required to power that engine more efficiently. As with all things, the need for speed kicked in and the manufacturers had to find a way to get more out of their electric powered scooters. An overnight sensation was the advent of the 24 volt system. Originally it was a single 24 volt battery, but The 24 volt battery was a bit large and cumbersome. Now a days, your 24 volt system consists of a dual pair of 12 volt batteries chained together. This is known as a trickle charge system. A trickle-charge system where two or more 12 volt batteries are simultaneously connected and then the whole system runs the engine, as well as any other add-ons that you have on your electric powered scooter. Each battery in the set gives off a little voltage at a time, and charges the same way. The best thing about the trickle charge system, in our opinion, is that if a battery goes bad, you don’t have to replace all of them. 99.9% of the time, you only need to replace one. If anyone tells you that you need to replace all of them, they just want your money. The traditional electric powered scooter that has all the extras will be either a 24 volt system or for the heavy duty and longer lasting electric scooters, you will get a much better setup with a 36 volt system. The higher voltage systems provide more power to carry more weight farther. With a 24 volt system, your average electric powered scooter can travel for about ten to fifteen miles; if you’re lucky. The 36 volt systems have been able to reach as far as twenty-five to even thirty miles on a single charge. There are some 48 volt systems out there that can travel up to thirty-five miles on a single charge, by those are few. As you can see, voltage does make a difference when you are talking about the actual distance and the distance that your electric scooter will take you before needing more juice.

Traffic school online what you really need to know guide
Yes, I’m a pretty good driver. In fact I grew up in a town where cars—hot rods and trucks and the like—were respected, if not revered. I had undergone my training in a driver education program at a high school that had the knowledge of wintry weather and expected the need for definite driving skills that surpassed those persons living in sunny states.. perhaps for instance driving on ice, snow, sleet etc. In spite of being quick and hyper-alert, though I love to drive a good fast car, in all my driving years (which equals about thirty-one years); I have only had three traffic violations: the first one was when I was 16 years I had got a speeding ticket, trying to beat curfew; the second one for a no seat belt ticket, when I was pulled over because a headlamp was out; and got a red light violation one night when I much aware but wanted to get home after working continuously all day and all night at a college an hour and a half away from where I lived. But alas last week, having just relocated to a new town only recently - in the last few months - I got pulled over yet again for speeding. For sure, I was a bit startled, personally I feel I was not speeding, but was doing 44 in a part of town where, I have since studied, the signs go from 35 to 25 to 35 to 25 (in one spot TWO SIGNS, one for 35 AND one for 25 are together?????)…almost like a speed trap set-up, if you ask me. To my good luck, the officer was not only a cool chap, but also kind and jovial. One of the first things he said, after enquiring with me when was the last time I got a speeding ticket (which was 30 years ago), was that I could go to traffic school online! Sure, I heard a couple of my friends talking over the last few years about traffic school online, and just about everything like how you can keep adding points to your driver record (points increasing means, evidently, insurance rates increasing), as well as learned of friends who had done traffic school online to ease the cost of the traffic ticket. (For instance, a red light violation, once a whopping $107 in my area, is now nearly $400!). Hence I now get to experience first hand the traffic school online adventure.
